The Statewide Access to Firearm Education Resource (SAFER) Basic Handgun Safety course is a free basic handgun safety course hosted by the Gun Owners of Maine organization. The course is a self-guided online course which consists of a series of 8 modules. Each module consists of short videos and then a review quiz. The course covers the very basics of firearm safety. The course mainly focuses on handguns, however the safety rules and content are applicable to all firearms.
